  • Craft fair at HI Royal British Legion

I spent most of the yesterday getting ready for today’s craft fair (details below). Amazing how long all the labelling and admin takes!

I’ve gone full sparkle this year with sparkly socks and mitts, and Furry Lights … fairy lights wrapped in wool … so pretty!

  • Socks and Scarf

    April 2025

Trainer socks, blue stripes, made as a commission. They have tab heels which are reinforced and I use sock yarn (cotton and acrylic); so these will be long-lasting. Similar socks would cost £12.50-£15.

Green hand-knitted men’s sock with reinforced heels (yarn is wool and nylon); approx size 10 UK; for sale £15

Scarf Lovely long, drapey scarf hand-knitted from a delicious blend of cotton, wool, silk and nylon. Matching brooch is also handmade, using the same yarn. A similar scarf would cost £25; brooch is £7.50

  • Sheep Breeds

    Directory of Sheep Breeds
There are more than 60 different pure breeds of sheep found in the UK, and up to as many 90 when you consider all the crossbreeds and composites. Breeds all have their own characteristics and suitability for our variety of landscapes, often originating from a very specific part of the country. These sheep and the people who look after them have shaped the landscapes we are familiar with and created the communities that keep rural areas alive.

There are thought to be more sheep breeds in the UK than any other country in the world. The breeds listed here enjoy affiliation to the National Sheep Association.
